How many gallons of paint do I need?
Net area divided by coverage, times coats, rounded up.
How many coats should I plan?
The field starts at 2. A drastic color change often needs another coat. The app does not decide that for you.
What coverage number do I type?
Typical latex is often cited at 350 to 400 sq ft per gallon per coat. Use the number on the can if you have it. The default 350 is a starting point, not a brand promise.
Why does it round up?
You cannot buy a fraction of a gallon here, so the buy line is the next whole gallon. The unrounded amount is shown too.
What does this not include?
Price, primer as its own product, texture, dark colors, and waste beyond the openings you subtracted. Brazil mode is liters, not gallons: you type m² per liter from the can, then it suggests whole 3.6 L cans and 18 L buckets.
